We have been looking at 3D shapes this week and have made some Angry birds and shelters. There is even some skate boarding action! The kids worked really well together in order to make their designs. They also spoke about what they had made - describing in detail about what was fun, tricky or interesting. There is always a lot of rich language when the kids are allowed to create something usin a main idea or expectation.

Kahurangi Dance Group
What a wonderful start we had to our Whanaungatanga days - with a dedicated group of young people sharing their mahi and knowledge of local maori myths and legends. They were funny, dramatic and slick. Ka rawe!
The theme this week is about the stories of Maui. The stories come from Peter Gossage's book. We are learning about how these stories can teach us things about life...

Let's go shopping!
Despite the windy weather and the slightly cramped conditions, the Middle school had a successful Market Day. They set their tables up, posted their signs and waited for the eager customers that were coming from the Senior school.
There was a range of products for sale from noughts and crosses to slippery slime! There was a lot of noise but mostly of excited shoppers and store holders really enjoying the trading.
We will know more in the morning if we made a profit or not - hopefully we made enough products, sold enough at the right price and SOLD OUT!
Thanks to those parents who were able to come and do a bit of shopping to support our businesses.
